A Poem for Europe has been created by Christopher Bond Christopher is a founder of two Competitions – The Shepton Snowdrop Poetry Competition and The Festival Run at Glastonbury.

He edits The International Banker Magazine and The Somerset Gardens Trust Magazine.

He has published two short books of poetry (Some Reasons to be Cheerful and More Reasons to be Cheerful, and is a member of a poetry reading group which meets regularly. He has travelled widely in Europe and has worked in Paris (he speaks indifferent French).

Kevin Redpath is a founder member of the competition team and manages the website and the marketing.  He grew up in West Wales and fell in love with the word play of Dylan Thomas  and the poetry of Waldo Williams.  His minor claim to fame is that he was taught Welsh by Waldo’s sister (mae’n siarad Saesneg).  He lives in Glastonbury and runs Redpath Creative in the shade of an old apple tree.

Having taken early retirement, Jenny Smith soon discovered there would not be enough hours in the day to do everything that she would like.  On joining Wells Gardening Club, a number of things very quickly followed on from this.   She trained to be a Garden Guide at the Bishops Palace, joined the Mendip Ladies’ Group, helped with the Open Reach programme at Wells Cathedral School and through this became a Mendip Medical Tutor.  She now runs the Creative Writing Competitions for Wells Festival of Literature and jumped at the chance of helping to launch The Poem for Europe.
